How to Appeal a Rejected Credit Request on TasteTXK
How to Appeal a Rejected Credit Request on TasteTXK
At TasteTXK, we’re committed to protecting and promoting local creators. Our Media Credit & Ownership feature ensures that photographers, videographers, designers, and artists get the recognition they deserve when their work appears across the platform.
But what happens if your credit request is rejected by a business owner? Don’t worry—there’s a clear process to help you appeal and ensure your creative rights are respected.
Why Appealing Matters
Protect Your Ownership – If you created the media, you should receive proper attribution.
Maintain Your Visibility – Credit ensures your work is seen by future collaborators.
Keep the Record Straight – Appealing prevents misattribution and protects your reputation.
When Credit Can Be Rejected
Business owners can reject a credit claim if they believe they own the rights to the media (e.g., they commissioned a professional shoot, purchased a license, or created it themselves). Rejections may also occur if the wrong creator profile tries to claim ownership.
If you truly own the media—or have the rights to it—you can file an appeal.
How to Appeal a Rejected Credit Request
Step 1: Review the Rejection Notification
When your claim is rejected, you’ll see a notification that includes:
The merchant name who rejected it
The media item in question
(Optional) The reason provided by the merchant
👉 Carefully review this before proceeding—it may simply be a misunderstanding.
Step 2: Gather Proof of Ownership
To strengthen your appeal, collect materials that demonstrate your authorship or licensing rights. Examples include:
Original files (with metadata or timestamps)
Screenshots of editing software projects
Invoices or contracts if the media was commissioned
Copyright registration or licensing documents
Step 3: Submit an Appeal
In your rejection notification, you’ll see a button: “Appeal Decision.” Tap it to begin the appeal process. You’ll be asked to:
Provide a short written statement explaining why you believe you own the media.
Upload supporting evidence (files, screenshots, contracts, etc.).
Submit your appeal for review by the TasteTXK Support Team.
Step 4: Wait for Review
Once submitted, your appeal goes to our Creator Support Team. Here’s what happens next:
Support Review: Our team examines your claim and supporting documents.
Merchant Follow-Up: If needed, we’ll reach out to the business owner for clarification.
Final Decision: A decision is issued—either granting your credit or upholding the rejection.
👉 Timeline: Most appeals are reviewed within 7 business days.
✅ If Your Appeal Is Approved
Your creator credit will be immediately added to the media.
The merchant will be notified of the updated credit status.
Your name/profile will display publicly alongside the media asset.
If Your Appeal Is Denied
If the appeal is denied after review, the rejection is final. In that case, you may:
Contact TasteTXK support for clarification.
Re-submit only if you obtain new evidence of ownership.
Choose to release your claim voluntarily.
Best Practices to Avoid Rejections
Always watermark or track your original files.
Keep records of contracts, licensing agreements, and communications.
Register your copyright if possible.
Build a strong Creator Profile on TasteTXK so businesses instantly recognize your work.
Your Work, Your Credit
The Media Credit & Ownership system was built to empower local creators, not to create conflict. While some disputes may happen, the appeal process ensures your voice is heard and your rights are protected.
TasteTXK is proud to stand with creators—because when your work gets the recognition it deserves, our whole community thrives.
