TasteTXK is all about supporting local creators — and that includes making sure you get credit for your work. Our new Media Credit & Ownership feature allows creators to be tagged when their images or videos appear on offers, events, merchant pages, and more across the TasteTXK Workspaces platform.

If you haven’t been tagged yet, you can easily claim ownership and get public credit for your media.

Here’s how it works:

Why Claim Media Credit?

• Get public credit as the creator on any media you own

• Build visibility and credibility across TasteTXK and local businesses

• Connect with merchants who may want to work with you again

• Protect your creative rights with proper ownership attribution

How to Claim Ownership of Media

When you tap on an image or video across the TasteTXK platform, you may see a small “Credit” button in the top-right corner.

👉 If no creator credit has been assigned yet, you’ll see:

“No credits available… Are you the creator? Claim this media to receive credit.”

To claim credit:

1.  Tap the “Claim media ownership” button

2. If you’re logged in as a creator account, your claim will be submitted instantly

3.  If you don’t have a creator account yet, you’ll be prompted to create one (see below)

4. Once your claim is submitted, the associated business owner will be notified and can either:

• Approve your claim, or

• Reject the claim if they believe they own the media

Once approved, your creator credit will appear publicly on the image (alongside any other tagged creators).

How to Create a Creator Account (If You Don’t Have One Yet)

To claim media ownership, you’ll need a TasteTXK Creator Account. It’s free and quick:

 1. Go to your TasteTXK profile

 2. Navigate to Account Settings → Creator Profile

 3. Fill out a few details about yourself or your brand

 4. Submit your profile — once approved, you can begin claiming media credits

⚠️ Important Notes:

• Only original creators or licensed owners should claim media.

• A single image or video can have multiple credited creators.

• Business owners will always be notified of claims made on content.

• Business owners can approve or reject claims via their Merchant Dashboard.

• If a claim is approved, the creator’s name/profile will appear on the media.

• Creators can choose to release their credit at any time if they wish.

Claim Approval Workflow (for your devs to implement):

1. Creator taps Claim media ownership

   • → Status = “Pending Approval”

2. Business owner receives notification:

   • “Mark Allan has requested to claim credit on your image for [Event Name / Offer Name]. Please review and approve or reject the request.”

   • → Business clicks Review Claim in Merchant Dashboard.

3. Merchant options:

   • ✅ Approve claim → Creator name appears on media

   • ❌ Reject claim → Creator is notified of rejection

   • → Optionally provide reason for rejection

     1. If approved:

        • Media shows Creator Credit tag (can show multiple names if multiple creators have claimed).

        • Merchant receives confirmation: “Claim approved. Mark Allan is now credited on this image.”

     2. If rejected:

        • Creator sees notification: “Your claim was rejected by [Merchant Name]. If you believe this was an error, please contact support.”
